Week 9 – Day 3

Today, I pushed myself to run a full mile again. It worked. I did it in around 10 minutes and 32 seconds. My average was a bit above my 5.6, so that’s another good thing. I can’t wait to run a 10 minute mile comfortably. I might increase my time from now on to 11 minutes, just so I can get my mile in.

Week 9 – Day 1

My app updated today, and I’m getting a new screen. I do miss the old screen, but I guess I’ll have to get used to this one for now. How technology keeps changing when we don’t really need it to. Anyway, about my run…

I ended up running a whole mile in 10 minutes and almost 40 seconds. That’s not too bad considering that about 2 months ago, I was barely running 5 minutes on a treadmill. I’m impressing myself.

Week 8 – Day 7

I had skipped two days with it being the weekend and all, so I thought today I would continue with  my 10 minute runs. It’s getting much much better. I’m getting more comfortable running outside for a full 10 minutes. I might even increase by a few seconds soon.

Week 8 – Day 4

I think I outdid myself today. I ran almost a mile, with an average speed of 5.9 mph. Not bad. Almost a 10 minute mile. I suppose I pushed myself a bit.

Week 8 – Day 3

Even though I skipped 2 days of running, I think I actually did better today. I ran a 5.6 mph pace, and sprinted a little in the last 30 seconds. It was a good run.

Week 8 – Day 2

I didn’t run tonight, but I did walk a lot. My friend came down from LA and we just walked and talked. My 7 year old joined us for the first couple of laps. He was very polite. He raised his hand to ask us if he “can stop home this lap.” Adorable!

Week 7 – Day 7

I ran my 10 minutes today. I broke a new record for pacing myself outside. I did an average of 5.8 mph. That’s what I used to run max on a treadmill. This is going great. I’m actually enjoying running and not feeling like it’s a chore. All I tell myself is that this helps my heart. That’s it.

Week 7 – Day 5

Today, I was able to run my 5 miles. It wasn’t at the 5.8 mph pace like two days ago, but it was a nice steady pace; especially for someone that has a cold. Having a cold stinks, but the run actually helps me breathe a bit better. So, no fever, just a sore throat.
